To a greater extent each day, the
presence of computers has diversified from sitting on our desktops
to filling our pockets and inhabiting our buildings and open
spaces. The ubiquity of computers has tremendous potential for new
networking opportunities, but it also raises formidable security
threats. I believe a grand challenge we face is the protection
of our privacy while simultaneously increasing ubiquitous
interactions using a network of peers. This tension is complicated
by the needs of law enforcement to investigate crimes involving
digital evidence. Accordingly, my main
